I was impressed from beginning to end with the service,  quality of work and overall professionalism of Barry and his team. He began by recommending a house designer and attending the meetings so we were all on the same page about it. Patient and generous with ideas and information, Barry's focus was on helping me get exactly what I wanted, and his ability to foresee and forestall problems like drainage issues was a blessing. 

Barry is an organisational "machine", ensuring that he had planning done weeks ahead for his men and the (excellent) subcontractors. They were so efficient and well organised that they had my home finished a month early. I feel very fortunate to have a beautifully finished quality home completed early and on budget.  It really doesn't get better than that! 

The whole team are personable,  helpful,  friendly and trustworthy. They cheerfully did extra things like attaching hooks for my hanging chair, adjusting the gate,  and answering questions. I moved in to an immaculately clean house with all fencing,  paths and lawns complete. Building with Barry Illsley was a pleasure and something I would happily do again.

Barry Illsey is one of the finest builders of my acquaintance. Barry has consistently seen each project as collaboration, and has worked with me to find the best solution to suit. We discuss what I think the end product will look like and he contributes his suggestions from his greater knowledge, which he does clearly and without sounding patronising. One of his strengths is the ability to think about alternative ways to the agreed outcome; where the standard answer is less suitable he thinks out an answer that works better. 

He is a quick and careful workman ready to work long hours, and has demonstrated advanced project management skills. He has gathered a team of excellent sub-contractors who fit in with his high standards of workmanship, and are also good people.
